About the Event
You've probably heard of the 1970's standby, "pineapple upside down cake". Well, this is a modern take on that old classic using apples or any fresh fruit of your choice. Chef Kel will show you and your kids how to make a caramelized sugar and fruit "bottom" which will be topped by a rich, buttery batter and then baked. Once done, the entire cake is flipped upside down leaving the glistening fruit on top. No need to fuss with frosting, but we will be making our own homemade whipped topping to serve alongside.
We will be using the stovetop and the oven for this class and knife skills may be required depending on your choice of fruit.
After registering for the event, you will receive an email explaining how the class will be run and providing you a list of ingredients and equipment you will need to have out and ready to go.
This session is intended for families with children in the age range between 10 -12. But you know your own family and your kids' attention span. Please contact Chef Kel with any questions.
